How to Apply

Step 1: Complete the online applicant questionnaire
To streamline the application for both applicants and staff, we require that all applicants initiate the process of completing a short applicant questionnaire. Upon completion of the questionnaire, you will be immediately notified whether your organization is eligible to apply for a BSCF grant. Click here to complete our brief applicant questionnaire. Step 2: Complete the online Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
If your organization is eligible to apply for BSCF funding, you will be directed to our online Letter of Inquiry (LOI) form. Complete this brief document online, and submit to Foundation staff for review. LOIs are accepted on a rolling basis. Projects outlined in LOIs must address one or more of the Foundation’s Program Areas.

Step 3: Review of LOI
On average, the Foundation reviews all letters of inquiry within 90 days of receipt. Within 90 days, applicants will be advised if either: (1) additional information or full proposal is needed for further consideration, or (2) Foundation staff are not recommending a project for funding. If a full proposal is requested, this should not be construed as a guarantee of funding.

The Foundation accepts Letters of Inquiry through our online grant system year round, and are reviewed by the Foundation staff on a rolling basis, within the framework of quarterly cycles.

Step 4: Submission of Full Proposal and Board Decision
If you are invited to submit a full proposal, you will be directed to our online proposal form. All areas to address in your proposal will be clearly identified. After you submit your proposal, it will be reviewed by the appropriate Foundation staff member(s), who may contact you to request additional information and/or schedule a site visit. Once a funding decision is made, you will receive written notice from the Foundation. Funding decisions are typically made within 90 days of proposal submission. It is important to note that an invitation to submit a full proposal is not a guarantee of grant funding.
