Cecilia Echeverría
Cecilia Echeverría is a program officer for the Health Care and Coverage team, managing the portfolio of grants focused on strengthening California's healthcare safety net.
Prior to her role at Blue Shield of California Foundation, Ms. Echeverría served as a senior program officer with The California Endowment where she provided strategic direction to The Endowment's efforts to promote school health, expand public health insurance coverage, and strengthen the healthcare safety net. Before that she was with the California HealthCare Foundation as a policy analyst, where she helped to develop and evaluate programs that leveraged Medicare and Medi-Cal.
Outside of philanthropy, she has served as a legislative analyst for the Congressional Research Service in Washington, D.C., and as a special projects associate for the Alameda County Public Health Department. At the Congressional Research Service, she provided expert advice to lawmakers on a wide range of health policy issues, including Medicare and Medicaid. At the Public Health Department, she worked on special projects for the Director's Office, including the development of community health teams throughout the county.
Ms. Echeverría has a bachelor of arts in social welfare, a master’s in public policy, and a master’s in public health from University of California, Berkeley. She is also an alumnus of the prestigious Presidential Management Fellowship program.
